Ain't what she used to be!!!
Some of you guys already know this, but in keeping with my trend of honesty on this board, I'll CONFESS. I have three fractured toes on my left foot (the middle three, by the way). Big toe and pinkie toe remain intact. I don't think "just anybody" could be THAT graceful!! Slipped on a stair, carrying popcorn and drinks out to listen to a recording of Jonathan Livingston Seagull with Kalee and Bill. Of course, I'd LIKE to say I didn't spill anything, but that'd be a lie. Please send me some of that GOOD KARMA! Oh, BTW, I am trying out for the Charlotte Checkers hockey game tomorrow. Already have one boot! ~ Janie ~ |

Ok, James ....
Seems to me that you don't know the "This Little Piggy" nursery rhyme?? Actually, a very long, long time ago, in a land far, far away ... there were 10 little piggies. "This little piggy went to market; this little piggy stayed home", etal.......etal Surely you aren't trying to get us to believe that you don't know!!!!! ~ Janie ~ |

So what does all this mean Janie-- You have 3 feet --how do you get little piggy's with only 2 feet-- You women are VERY Confusing ---VERY . .. . ... . Use today wisely, It's the only one we get. Oh, for so short a time, we are on loan to each other. Jim |

Janie was this the first or second foot? Glad you are back. We haven't heard about school lately. Have things settled into a routine? Maybe you need to get some steeltoed boots

Good news, for a change!
Went back to the orthopedic doc last Thursday and he said two of my toes had already healed and to wear an Ace bandage for support on my third little piggy. So, hopefully, things are looking up! ~ Janie ~ |

Janie, bruised toes turn purple, but they do not hang at "funny angles". Sounds like you need another x-ray. The last thing you need is a toe to heal at the wrong angle; makes shoe fitting a nightmare forever afterwards. My husband has a small toe that healed pointing outward. Finding shoes wide enough to accommodate that outward-pointing toe was more than difficult, especially since he has a small foot, by American standards of shoe making.

Grace is what me and my "other" klutzy friend call ourselves when we FUBAR. (Just take my word on that, ok?) Because we are so GRACEFUL.
Hey, Eleanor, glad you think we're a nutty bunch. Miss Verrrrraaaaaa, here's hoping you don't have strep. And, like Melissa said ... YOU stay away from ME, too. Sonia, thanks for the advice on the construction boots! Gypsy, I only hurt one toe on the right foot, thank goodness. I don't think it's broken, but it's hanging at a funny angle and it's turning purple. Should I be concerned? ~ Janie ~ |

Gracie-Janie, my sincerest sympathies to all ten of your tootsies. I"m sure the surviving toes are in extreme fear for their lives.
Guess we all better head on down there to keep an eye on you. What might you do next?!? (Strep throat-uggghhhhh-- I'd volunteer to head your way and take care of you Veeera, but..but..but.... I HATE strep throat!!!! Drink as many fluids as you can trickle down your intensely painful throat, get lots of rest-if you can sleep through the pain, and KEEP AWAY FROM ME!! Feel better guys. How can we party if everyone is sick or injured??? "Whatever tomorrow brings, I"ll be there-with open arms and open eyes" |

Miz Janie, mama always said, "don't wear your shoes to bed!", but in your case, I think some construction boots would be just the thing.
Veeerrraaa: Yeah, you'll get a really mean sore throat, probably some fever, and you'll feel lousy for a week. Does that make you feel better? If it heads for the sinuses, some antibiotic would be needed most likely. But I do have some comfort for your sore throat; dissolve two aspirin (not ibuprofen) in 1/2 cup water and gargle with it. Swallow it or not ... your choice. It will help ease the pain. Repeat as needed, but don't swallow the stuff more than every four hours. Some intern told me to do this years ago when I worked at the Indiana University Medical Center and had a throat that was totally on fire. It was such a relief. |

Janie and Ms Veeeerrraa, you both keep things interesting.Janie, is the table still usable?I hope all this is not catchy. Vera, under normal circumstances, I would say you cannot catch the virus from the computer.Because it involves you, anything is possible

Janie, Grace-NOT!! How bout you trade your feet in for a pair of feet that are a little more coordinated? Heard that the foot store is having a three for one sale so you can get an extra one just in case you need it. Bubble wrap is a good start but we better add some packing peanuts for good measure.
Did you at least catch the guy? Eye seem to have lost my pig mentor/avatar back to tripod. This new one will do two things; serve as my temporary new avatar and keep an eye on Miss Janie just to keep her out of harms way. Or is that keep harm out of her way? Anybody know what the symptoms are for strep throat? I feel yucky today and hoping that my computer didn't infect me with that virus too. May the frog have mercy on my soul. Power to the puppets and peace to all people. [This message was edited by veeerrraaa on August 22, 2003 at 02:30 PM.] [This message was edited by veeerrraaa on August 22, 2003 at 02:32 PM.] |

Grace here ... reporting in.
You guys ...... how can I tell you what I've done. I was laying on my right side. In the dream, I decided to kick the bad guy to keep him from following me! I kicked him - and real GOOD, too! EXCEPT --- What I really kicked was the coffee table. Get it? Coffee table? Bare feet? "Other" foot? Two toes involved this time. The names will be withheld to protect the innocent. After all, GRACE was sleeping. ~ Janie ~ |

sorry for the double post.I am either spelling wrong or using all capital letters. One thing is for sure the message will not go unnoticed. I think I am a prime candidate for home schooling at this time in my life

Our Ms. Janie has been forced to behave herself. The slush fund should draw a lot of interest. My concern is will it be enough as she will want to make up for lost time.God help us all!!

I'm sorry to hear it is your foot that is broken rather than your toes. It does make you wonder how the Dr. could not see that to begin with. Try and take care of yourself as much as you can while your foot heals. Let Bill and Kalee wait on you. After all, someone has to bring you your Bon Bons and trashy novels, right? Take care of yourself, Sweetie. Vicki Sugarlips |
