Hi all (if any of my buddies on here scroll down this far)....anyways, just wanted to check in to say hello and see how everyone is. Its weird to have to post under the 'former' caregivers heading. I remeber when i used to look at this heading for a post and WISH i could post under here. Now i'm sad that i am posting under here. The granny is in a nursing home. I talked to her yesterday and she didn't even sound like my own granny. I kept looking at the phone to make sure i was talking to the right person! She tried to convince me that she was only staying there temporarily and that she was going home and that she was okay but then she started crying. It just broke my heart to know i didn't get to save her from the nursing home like i wanted to. And i know that ALL of them aren't bad but no one wants their own LO to be in one. Anyways, i would like to know how everyone is doing but i cant private IM everyone all at once so if anyone feels like leaving a message and updating me on how you've been and how everything is going then i would be so happy Smile

OK BG I'm ready. Too cold and windy here anyway so I'm ready to hit the road and get to Fla. Perhaps we can get into Disney World for a little escape from reality. No lift today and when I called my dear brother to ask for their number or comp name he told me he was too busy and he gave the place my name and number to call. Whatever....when it comes it comes and what is important is that it does get here soon. As far as dear old brother he will not get to me. Got to get to Harry's for a grog.

hey all! thanks for responding to a post i had forgotten i even posted. Must have forgotten to turn my notification on. Anyways,....
MB: fallen in love??? LOLLOLLOLLOLOLOLOL. Yes, i've fallen in love with my sanity again (at least the sanity i have left) I have fallen in love with only having to take care of myself and my cats. I am working as a bartender now (with Harry!). I am just trying to get back on my feet...trying to save money to get my car fixed (been renting a car since i been here and you know that is expensive). I think it will be a few years before i am back on my feet from the drama that went on this past year. I still have a court case going on to try to get me back pay. I just dont even care anymore but my dad and uncle think i should pursue it and another lawyer took me pro-bono. But what a shitty feeling to have to have a lawyer fight for me to get my granny's money. The guilt is overwhelming at times, especially when i talk to her in the nursing home. She sounds so sad and she is so worried about ME. Anyways, i am just adjusting to a life again. How is everyone else's LO's doing? I know i wont here "oh she/he is doing better" but leave some updates.

Hi Angel!

Well, I think we all saw the NH coming the minute you moved out. As for TSU...bad karma always comes back tenfold (I think that's the saying). Just wait until they get older...let's hope, as Gypsy said, that the NH Granny's in is a caring one, a nice one. And you, my dear, are probably one of the most unselfish people I've ever had the pleasure of "knowing" Smile I seriously mean that.

Now, what about you? What are you doing? How are you doing? Don't keep us in suspense!

Hiya Angel! I figgered you'd be missing her a lot... also figgered that TSU would slap her in a NH quicker'n a jackrabbit on fire as soon as they drove you away... I wish I could think of something cheerful to say, but you were in a very ugly situation. All I can say is that I pray that karma acts swiftly in their lives... Roll Eyes

Speaking of karma, how're things going for you? Have you found a job, gone back to school, fallen in love, won the lottery, or all of the above? Eek

Lettuce hear about your new adventures in FL, part deux. Big Grin Razz

Angel I hate how this has made you feel about gran being put there...But I have to agree with Gypsy here, you gave her what her own daughters couldnt....One year more in her own home....I hate the woulda's but do you really think TSU would have done what you did on a daily basis? Her in a nursing home now just proves that they werent concerned about her welfare but were concerned about the money they were saving by having you there. (ok I have a few choice words Im keepin to myself here where they are concerned!) But you know how I feel Wink You were truly the most unselfish person there, never forget that... we all know that and if some out there were unsure they know it now...You gained nothing by doing what you did but you sure as heck lost a bit... your made of some strong stuff baby and your coming back stronger than ever with wisdom earned after a pretty tough year...give yourself a pat on the back and know that your friends here love and admire you for all that you did. Smile

Hi Angel-I'm glad I scrolled all the way down here(I usually do at least once a day)-I just left you a message at Harry's. I am sorry about your granny being in the NH but hopefully it is a caring one. I hope friends and relatives are visiting her often. Remember you gave her a year at home that she may not have had if you hadn't put your life on hold. Do tell us how you are doing-working? going back to school? relaxing on the beach? Don't forget Harry's is always open.Gypsy
