>>>>>>>> Ok, having found that special post by Sandi, I find that we are involved in more "family dynamics"? This time with my older son and DIL. Apparently she has been angry at me for quite some time because I don't "DO" things for the kids in the way SHE thinks I "should".

SHE never calls me; it seems like she just stews and stews and then pressures my son into calling me. We rec'd a call from him when we were at the beach. "I'm mad at you, Mom, because you didn't get the same kind of gift for XX (my grandson) as you did for the girls." (Grandson = 2 yrs old; Girls = 1 is 7; other is 9). I got the girls a digital camera, thinking we could send pictures back and forth to one another. Got grandson a gift certificate to "Toys R Us". When I asked what to get him, "oh, it doesn't matter; just anything."

After son's phone call, I "thanked" him for feeling free enough to express his feelings with me and we ended the call on good terms. Later, I thought it over and wrote him an e-mail saying I never get any "thanks" for the things I DO, but I get a whole lot of heat for what I DON'T DO. It wasn't an angry e-mail to him, but just some expression of MY feelings for a change.

Since then, I have been getting -- hum, I won't call it HATE mail from his wife -- let's just call it I HIGHLY DISLIKE YOU mail. I'm confused with the whole thing and don't really know how to handle it. Actually, I'm pretty shocked, dismayed and angry. What'd I DO?

So, Sandi says when we get older we can say "pretty much what we want" -- Hey! I KNOW she didn't mean so much with FAMILY, but can a 26 year-old CHILD know that much? She "thinks" she does.

There is life after caregiving. For all of you out there that have finished your caregiving journey I'm here to say you can have a life after caregiving.

It has taken me a while to get to this point, but I am now firmly on my way towards completing that goal.

I have come to the conclusion that grieving takes the time it takes. It's different for everyone. You will know when you are ready to take your life back. I am ready now.

For those of you still in the caregiving role, I will help you any way I can.

Life is good.

Sandi,
Brain surgery! I love it. The jaunt into the backyard was very funny. Thanks for sharing it with us. We all needed a laugh. big grin

Pig Pen,
Did you say something about a party? Just say when and where and the Peanuts gang
(and everyone else) will be there.

Vicki, I mean Snoopy

That's Pig Pen, an ID all my own.

Look at this ladies Now she's trying to butter me up for a peach pie!

The ladies ate all the peaches but maybe bro will send more next month. We didn't even get to try to make ice cream big grin

Guess I'll have to stash some for a special party, huh?

Jim big grin

Vicki & Sandi, I LOVED that movie, too. big grin By the way, Sandi did you catch GT's tips on ripening those bad boy T's? I sent you a red rose so maybe THEY would get the hint.
