Melissa! This is what I get for not coming around more often! I'm so glad to hear that you are okay and that your "baby" will be okay too. You really were fortunate and I think Debbie is right in that your momma was there protecting you.
Take care of you, Lori I am very conscious that I am not wise at all. |

Thank you guys. My car should be back with me in a week or so. I kinda like the spiffy little red rental car insurance is paying for, but I"ll be glad to get my baby back.
Brenda, I fear for my life more all the time. Seems like there's no such thing as "light traffic" ever anymore, and people just love to tailgate, speed, and drive like morons. Everybody's in a hurry. I've considered switching to the bus until they all drive better too! Janie, like those little phrases. Especially the last one Yellow Rose, SO good to see you again! Everything happens for a reason. I can think of a few for this one. Love you guys-Melissa "Whatever tomorrow brings, I"ll be there-with open arms and open eyes" |

Hey Melissa!!
Count those blessings, my friend! 'Member those "series" of two little words: "If only" "What if" "But for" "Holy S#$%" So glad to hear you were not injured, well physically anyway. A car wreck can be traumatic. I watch my back even now, after 31 years have passed when I was stopped to make a left turn and a white van plowed right in to my little Fiat. That sense of "caution" has saved me from at least two wrecks since then. Good luck out there, my friend. Loads of kwaazy people! ~ Janie ~ |

Melissa, Glad to hear you are OK after the accident! Lately I've been driving further, I've seen so many accidents caused by stupid driving. Sometimes I swear I am not going to ever go back out on the roads until everybody drives as good as I do.............
Hopefully you'll have your car all fixed up and back in your driveway quickly. May the frog have mercy on my soul. Power to the puppets and peace to all people. |

Hey guess what!?! For once Debbie isn't why I"m posting here! She's actually still decently stable!
Nah, I'm posting here to update me. I wasn't going to but I have been a little quiet the last few days and there is a reason. I was in a car accident Friday night. I was stopped in traffic behind a pickup truck and a minivan decided to slam into me from behind. I was then pushed into (or under rather) the pickup. My car is pretty smushed but fixable. I think I finally stopped shaking yesterday but other than being shaken up on impact I do believe I escaped intact. The stiffness I've had is letting up. I"d never had a wreck in my life till this year. Late last year my 15 year old car broke down at an intersection, and before the cops could get there, someone slammed into the back of it. I'd gotten out of the car cause I could see people were driving like idjuts, but it wasn't much fun watching my car get slammed either. That led to me getting my new car. People keep telling me the main thing is that I wasn't hurt. Of course that's true. And thank goodness the guy who hit me this time had full insurance and everything will be taken care of. Still ticks me off. Im feeling a little jinxed. Think I"ve reached my quota for the year-or for my life? I hope? At any rate I've been dealing with that in various ways so that's where I've been. There are lots worse things that coulda happened-I'm gonna go count my blessings now. "Whatever tomorrow brings, I"ll be there-with open arms and open eyes" |

ANYONE IN THE MIDWEST THAT WANTS TO SEE CHER
She is coming to Milwaukee on May 22. If there is anyone here in that area that would like to go tickets are still available. I would get some, but I would have to bring baby. I don't think he would enjoy that, besides it would go past his bedtime. Take care and God Bless Peggy aka rainbowgirl |

Melissa,
Uhhh, scalpers? You do remember that you live in Ohio, right? Maybe Dayton is different, but my SIL hated flying to Toledo, or trying to get out of it. Anyone coming near the vicinity had to change planes in Detroit. If it was winter, the planes could be grounded at the drop of a snowflake. Before we moved, his (and family)transported themselves via car, from (and to) Detroit. Much more reliable to guarantee he would end up where HE wanted to be, and usually hours earlier. |

Well, Kathie, I would be remiss if I didn't offer you a free ticket to Cher since it really will be your birthday. Now all you have to do is find a way to get here! No problem right?
Matter of fact, I'll buy a ticket for anyone who finds a way to get to Ohio. I'll have to pay a fortune to scalpers, but it'd be worth it! "Whatever tomorrow brings, I"ll be there-with open arms and open eyes" |

It was FANTASTIC! Only problem we had was that it started late-no big, we could deal with that. Cher has not lost a step(OK-maybe she's lost yet a few more stitches in her clothes, but ya know she can do it and look good in next to nothing so more power to her!). Changed clothes after every song, had clips from her movies and Sonny and Cher and other appearances on screen while she changed, fantastic dancers, great stage set-up-what can I say? It was exactly what I would expect from Cher!
Kathie, I bought your T-shirt, but then I decided it looked so good on me I decided to keep it. You don't mind do you? And Janie-this concert was so in demand that they set up another date for her to come back. July 21st. You get your tushy to Ohio and I"ll buy you a ticket as a belated birthday present. What d'ya say??? Thanks for all the good wishes guys. We really had fun and it felt so good! "Whatever tomorrow brings, I"ll be there-with open arms and open eyes" |

Cher
That is very impressive about Debbie being able to go to the concert. She is such a trouper. I can see why you want to brag about her. She is quite a woman. I would love to see Cher. I have heard this is her last concert. Post again and tell us all what a wonderful time you both had last night. Vicki Sugarlips |

Melissa,
I hope you and Debbie enjoy the concert. I think this is Cher's final tour. I love her music and I share a birthday with her also. That makes me more of a fan. I am glad that both of you are up to the trip, it will do both of you good to get out. It looks like both of you have been through a lot. The thought of all of her teeth being pulled out just seems so painful, then add on to it the fact that she cannot eat normally. My mom had to have all of her teeth pulled about a year ago. She went to an oral surgeon, they put her to sleep and pulled them all at once then she was fit for dentures. My uncle also had that done when his teeth rotted out. He never got dentures however, because at that point cancer took over his body and he was gone a couple months later. I know it sounds terrible, but I am surprised that is not what they are doing for Debbie. I happened to read your original post in this discussion. My husband is also diabetic and has sky-high cholesterol and tryglycerides. He has had pancrentitis 4 times because the tryglycerides got way too high. He was told that he had to change his diet and take his meds or he would not be around here much longer. Is this under control with Debbie? If so, could you tell me how. DH wants to make the necessary changes to his life to stay healthy, but it is really hard for him. His biggest weakness is food, and it is his main stress-reducing remedy also. I cannot bear the thought of him being hospitalized again, knowing it is possible that he may not come out alive. It was hard enough the last 2 times when his mother was still at home and I was 7 months pregnant the first time, and Eric was 4 months old the second time. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the concert. I also wish you and Debbie the best. Take care and God bless Peggy aka rainbowgirl |
