This is my first time here--a friend gave me the site. My father has parkinson, dimentia, TIA's, COPD and the list continues. I took a leave from my job in July 2006 and have not returned--I was taking turns with my sisters but, that came to a end when he had a slight Stroke last month and he is know living at my home with 3 teenagers, 2 cats, 2 dogs and my boyfriend. Yesterday and Today took a tole on me--my fathers' blood pressure likes to bottom out and then my boyfriends was sky high and on our way to the doctors office he was bumping into the walls and his blood pressure bottomed out again--I'm just venting a little--I love my dad dearly just some days are worst then others.

Welcome in Pooh Smile
You certainly got thrown into the deep.
You have most definitely got a free pass to a vent or 3 for that matter Wink

Hi Pooh, welcome in!
I'm curious - did your dad's latest stroke cause a rift between you and your sisters, or are they still willing to come to your house from time to time to take care of him while you and the boyfriend/kids take some time with each other?
Don't you just love friends who are so helpful? You just found a bunch more - stick around!

Hi Pooh,
Welcome! Smile We all CARE and LOVE our elders, but sometimes we all need to vent. It's a tough job! Some days are good, and some worse.

Vent away! We even have an "Anger Wall" section, so you see, you are not alone! Wink
