I need to kow because i also study and would like to calculate how much i could earn while i study and work.

thanks, Mayank

mayank, Welcome to ECO. I am not aware of any members that live in Manhattan and have no idea what the rate for in home or private duty might be in that area.

If you have professional experience and breeze through a background ground check, it might be worth your while to look into opportunities with an agency. You may not make as much (they take a substantial cut) but you can tell them what hours you are available and they can match you up with clients to keep you as fully employed as possible. Plus they will handle taxes and SS, maybe offer you a chance at health insurance.

Otherwise, you may end up negotiating with each client, different rules in each house, sudden changes in the status of the client. ETC.

Good luck to you if you can indeed fill a need for someone. I hope you match up. Females seem to be the ones to fill most of the slots in this area, the rare males do fill a valuable role where male patients are more comfortable. Ads can be placed in the classifieds.

Are you studying a related field? I am interested in the experience you have. Parents, grandparents, institutions???
