hi everyone! i was playing with the computer as this is my first off for the week. i came accross this site and got interested in joining here.

ive been working as a staff nurse in an elderly care home for nearly 4 years now and i believe i still need to learn many things with regards to this job. being in this site will help me discover new things and will be helpful in my line of work.

Zuki, the best education you can get is through caregivers experience.All I needed to learn in my time of careing for threee began right here
What I learned from the medical profession was from their text book knowledge and not hands on experience.Even today, with so much knowlege available a nurse for my husband did not know what LBD was.In my husbands final days Moms buddy gave me so much valuable information.The professionals talked to you in their language not taking the time to put it into terms you cn understand.They have no idea about meds and how they affect the elderly.They lump everyone together.I have met the brightest in the medical profession and have met the most ignorant, not caring.Dealing with some in the medical profession was more stressful then being a caregiver.They are so threatened when one is informed.They view our elderly in a way that is beyond belief.The first words that come out of their mouths is are you going to place them.We need to see more compassion and better informed people tending to our loved ones.
I hope you are serious and want to discover good and humane information that will allow you to do the best you know how.
