Who else is getting really weird spam? I just checked one of my e-mail addresses that I rarely use except for Mom's business and there were 42 spam entries. I do look them over, sometimes a friend with a different addy gets side railed to the spam box, but this was strange. There was a lot referring to Fan Box (either Kiss or Hot Meter) and one referring to the Death Clock application. One was "Rose wants to share her photos on Flicker" (That concerned me because I know a Rose, but I don't think she doesn't have that addy.

There is Daily Rose and Virtual Gift Exchange, the Bigg Kiss, on and on.

Be careful my friends. I was actually more comfortable with the spam about sex aids and cheap prescriptions. At least I knew they weren't my friends. It is old advice, but bares repeating, don't open anything if you are unsure of the source. And run your security scans like clock work.

LOL, it does go to the spam box, but I just took a peak at who/what had sent 42 in a day. I do check it from time to time because something will get side tracked there that I want.

I have now found out that fan box is some sort of social net working site that when/if you join, it immediately adds every addy in your address book to their mailing list(info from Google). Hot Meter, Big Kiss, the Daily Rose, et. al. are features of Fan Box. Supposedly you can go there and have your addy blocked, but then why go there at all when you can just spam it?

Bren, how are things going for you and your mom?

I am going through the same thing right now BC so I reset my spam filter all over again Iv been getting alot of them with personal names on it in fact a few days ago I got one just like you did that I was tempted to open but when I saw the addy I hit the ole spam key.
Just reset your filter its in mail options you will go through a couple of weeks worth of spam finding its way into your box until you get all the little buggers flagged as spam again.

They are becoming more clever in their approach.

I use amazon and ebay a lot for used books and I keep getting "from:" or "subject:" for spam with those words in them! Eek
