Some places around here got up to 16 inches of rain in the channel 5 viewing area
Me? I'm high and dry. Road washed out in one part of the county. Many are flooded out, on streams and creeks. Tomorrow, we get another round of this mess! |

Hi, Bren, Glad you stopped in. We have been having a lot of rainy/cloudy weather, too, not dangerously so, no flood warnings or tornado watches so far. I guess with lawns, you are either watering or cutting.
Looks like it is clear today for you so the grass gets to grow like crazy. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Bobcat, * the crystal ball (*) is in the shop>>>> |

We've been under flood and tornado watches on and off since sometime yesterday, or it may have been the day before.
I got to get the arc finished, lol... Its supposed to quit raining I think by tomorrow morning. Seems each week, we have 3-4 days of rain. At least I don't have to water the grass, lol. I'm so sick of rain! |

Last Monday, 3/02, the low was 10 degrees F. Yesterday it was 82 for a high. Mom loved to see the snow, but has been wiped out since.

Wow, Mom's buddy, those look just like mine!
I also have a lot of bulbs coming up, and Japanese magnolia blooming, and Caroline Jasmine blooming too in my yard. was 70 degrees today. I can deal with that kinda weather. I'd never survive up north! |

Wow and thanks, MB. Beautiful. It is still snowing here, we ended up with 8" and it is a mess. My car is frozen shut from the freezing rain that landed before the snow. I won't be going anywhere for a while, and I think I have plenty of company. At least I have power, some don't.

This is the weather here...
A cool front moved through, but the days warm up nicely. You need sunglasses to shield your eyes from the brilliant color of the azaleas which are in full tilt everywhere down here. Take heart, all you northerners and snowbirds - spring IS comin'... enjoy a little of ours while you wait for it to show up in your neck of the woods! "She ain't heavy; she's my mother." Oh the weather outside is frightful! Yep it's snowing again and they already cancelled school for tomorrow. Predictions are for 12 inches and ending sometime around 6PM Mon. Only 20 more days till spring. OH and it's my birthday and 52 years ago we had a blizzard when I was born. Got to love tradition....Stay warm and safe all..

Oops, it got cold here again, and it is snowing. So strange, for the past few years we have more snow in late Feb and early March, Actually I think the worst is already past here, maybe a few flurries coming. Just a tiny bit north of here it seems to be building up to the da#m nuisance level.
I had already talked with Mom's CGs to see if tonight's lady could stay if tomorrow was a bad day for driving. It might be rough early but I think it will be fine by noon. Had to laugh.. CG called at 9:30, She had told Mom it was snowing and Mom made her call me and tell me I should stay home tomorrow before she would agree to get ready for bed. Mom thinks I am about 16 and just got my license I guess. Shucks. * the crystal ball (*) is in the shop>>>> |

BC, let me rephrase....I don't know of any homes without heat down here.
Lot of older homes here had fire places. But they have to have heat now. City code. If you have 2 chimneys, there has to be a fireplace there. Now someone may have paneled or sheet rocked over it. I can't imagine a chimney without a fireplace! Humm... |

LOL. bnot, No slam intended. I have friends in the Florida panhandle, hovering around space heaters, hoping their pipes don't freeze. Lots of homes and hotels when I was in San Fransisco had no heat (in the 70's), my own house in VA was built with 2 chimneys with pipe fittings for wood stoves, but no fire places or standard heat source. Heck, it was built in the 1940's. It was only six years ago, that we finally got heat with a thermastat. (Got AC at the same time.)
I still don't and probably never will have a dryer. Not enough power service to the house for that. Believe me, I would not ever slam the South. * the crystal ball (*) is in the shop>>>> |

Merrwid, glad your ok. And BC, I kinda thought you'd been talking about arkansas, not alaska.
Its supposed to be pretty cold here on the Gulf coast the rest of this week. I have plants covered outside. Tomorrow's high isn't supposed to be 50, which is unusual for here. Glad everyone has checked in and ok. |
