I seem to have a long list of things from carpal tunnel to arthritis in my fingers. LOL....gawd. I think last year, they added tennis elbow to the list.
This past month, arthritis in the thumb acting up again. It only pops when I bend it, or straighten it out! I been wearing a thumb brace the past month. Tomorrow I go back to the hand doc. Last year, I got a shot, right in the thumb. OUCH...but it worked. I've been to the point now, where I'll take the shots, and get over the pain in a few minutes, rather than deal with the pain, all day long every day. its even woke me up at night, when I wasn't wearing the brace. I have other fingers hurting too. I refuse to just stop doing anything at all. I have do be able to do things I enjoy, like gardening. Its been the left thumb giving me all the grief. Lately right thumb acting up too. Might just let them do an ex ray of both hands, and just give me shots where it looks bad. I've tried Icy Hot, and Absorbine Jr, and heating pads. None touch the pain. I refuse to take pain meds, for somthing like this I will be dealing with the rest of my life. I take enough meds as it is. Wish me luck, and I get out of there without more than 2 shots directly into the joints! |
