my grandma does weird things, like nothing can go in to the garbage unless it is cut up, and its not just boxes and stuff like that pop bottles juice bottles, cans have to be opened on both ends and crushed, she says she does this because she doesnt want to waste her trash bags, this is a new thing for her i cant ever remember her doing things like this
At least she knows where the garbage is and what goes in it. Mom sometimes puts things in the refrig that are supposed to go in the garbage AND if we happen to have the can sitting out in the kitchen instead of in the cabinet, she will walk past it and open the door to the cabinet and throw it in there. *S*....

Hey usually the man of the house does trash here Uh....well mostly its me cause I hate to have to ask twice.... Honey let gran have at it! Its one less thing for you to do
********************************************** Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit.
I confess. I've gotten weird about the trash as well. We only have pickup once a week, and can only put out as much as the bin will hold. If I don't religiously sort out the recycling, crush bulky non-recyclable items, rinse the food out, etc. we end up with a gross smell and nasty maggots in the garage and have too much to fit in the bin.
We are lucky, though, because we don't have to sort our recycling, only rinse it. All recycling goes together in one bin and is sorted at the processing place.
Bless her heart. The trash men and recycle people will set her as a good example.I do the same except for crushing as we have to seperate and recycle. She can do no harm, bless her heart

This may represent a new obsessive behavior, but actually it's all good practice, so let her become the Official Garbage preparer! My mom never put a milk carton or jug into the trash without first doing a dance on it to crush it. Same with cartons. No "goopy" stuff was ever put into the trash - that went into the compost container. She rinsed out & dried soda & beer cans before crushing so they wouldn't attract ants & fruit flies. Cans were rinsed out & crushed. Plastic was rinsed out and crushed. 6-pack holders were cut up so no creature could get its head caught in one. Burnable items went in one can and non-burnables in another.
So GLAD she never learned about the plastic coding for recyclables... Shhhhh!! Don't tell YOUR grandma either!!
