Mom can hear now!! I was shocked as how much she can hear, and I think she was too!
They don't have a volume, girl said in a few weeks, if Mom wants the volume control, they can add it. Right now, she's trying to keep it simple. She has mute, regular, and a setting for restaurants. So far, I've not had to talk loud at all. Maybe now the neighbors won't be hearing our whole conversations. Mom said she farted, and didn't realize how loud it actually was. |

I talked her into waiting for them to adjust before adding a volume control.
I really think, she feels they are loud due to she's hearing stuff she hasn't heard in forever. This morning, she was flicking the plastic place mat on the table with her finger, saying she could hear it. Mae, so sorry your folks aren't well enough to appreciate the aids or glasses or teeth. Thats so sad. I've heard of many who kept their hearing aids in their purse. My uncle kept his false teeth in a drawer. I have partials also, and that does take a while to adjust to also. Once you make it through the adjustment, its easy. I'd be in trouble without my partials or glasses. Suppose I'll be wearing aids one day too, as now Mom can hear the tv fine on volume #18, but I can't! |

My husband had great hearing aides and glasses. The problem was , when he had bad days he would take them out and throw them. The same with his glasses.I could leave his glasses on when I was close by.The hearing aides were impossible to keep in so I stopped and just talked loud.
Mother would take her teeth and hide them, then accuse me of stealing them. Sad, under normal circumstance this would have never happened. I am so called normal and have days when I would like to take out my partials and throw them. |

The ones she had bobcat, were bought in 2003. And might have been 2 years since she had both of them.
I don't mind helping her get them in, as long as she can hear. I'd been waiting to see the look on her face when her phone rang. Its one of those for deaf/sight imparied, and believe me...its LOUD. She almost jumped out of the recliner! Right now she's watching tv on volume 18, instead of 30+. I'm sure the nighbors appreciate that, lol. But she says they are too loud, and she wants them to add the volume control on it. So I'll call tomorrow, see when I can get an appointment again. I think she just doesn't want to believe she really farts that loud! |

Great news bnot. This is going to make a huge difference for you both. How old were the ones she had? Mom's hearing had gotten much worse in the years since she got the ones before. The dog that chewed hers up probably did us a favor. She needs help getting them in and out though.
