The first few months was rough, her getting used to me, and me getting used to her. Also we had to establish her with all new doctors, and get visiting nurse started well. During that time, we had folks come a lot to visit, Mardi Gras hit and the whole 9 yards.

We're on Mom's 3rd month of being here, and things have calmed down considerably! Its getting to what I consider "normal" now. Stress level on both of us has dropped. For a while, I didn't think we'd ever get to this point. But we did.

I've got used to her schedule, and she's got used to having dinner at 5pm.

Spring is here, and we can open the front door now. I've been working on "her view" from her recliner, with the glass storm door I'd put up last year. Her view is getting better and better now. Adding a few plants here and there. Now, birds and squirrels are coming, and I move my car so she can see them eat. She misses naps sometimes looking out the door!

I'm so glad things have calmed down. There was a few weeks, I thought I was going to go nutz! Things got really stressful on me. I'm so glad we got through that rough spot!

Now, to try to get her out of the house more. I think when it gets above 75, is when she gets more interested in going out front, and to the back porch.

I still think a lot of all of it is because of the weather. Most places I've heard about have had a more abnormal winter than they've had in a long time. Not to mention that it somehow felt darker than usual for winter time, and then the crazy time change................. Roll Eyes

Enjoy the calm between the storms!! Razz
There is a lot of routine time that passes in our journeys - it's mostly the stuff going wrong that gets the attention. It's soooooo important to celebrate the routine good days as the blessings that they are, for they help to sustain us when the going gets tough and give us a goal to which to return when a crisis has passed.
