Well, the evil step daughter has once again managed singlehandedly to raise my BP to the stroke point. I don't know too much today, as most of this came about this weekend, but I'll fill you in later this evening.
The ES goes to the same hairdresser as her oil-oainting teacher and my mom and I do. Mom was in there this weekend. She was told that the teacher said the ES was thinking of moving and may have already done so. Mind you, this is a mere 2 months after the bank loan disaster.
So my Dad - lovely person that he is - said that he would go to ES home and drop off the few things she said she wanted to keep from her motor home parked in my backyard - the one she lost interest in 3 years ago. Now keep in mind that my dad built a wooden ramp in place of the stairs leading up to her doorway, so when Don visited her he would have it easy.
Dad came home yesterday morning and said, "I drove around that trailer park 3 TIMES, thinking I just forgot which one she lived in.
There are NO homes with wooden ramps, and the spot her home was in is just a big empty lot!"
I KNEW SHE WAS A WITCH!!! Not only has she skipped town, she managed to take her house with her! It's just disappeared! POOF.
Can't wait to get to the bank and see the look on their faces when I tell them that the home they financed is gone. Of course they won't really care, because if ES takes her account out of that bank, OUR LAND (Don's & mine) is what they really used for collateral.
Stay tuned.....................

Usually banks are good about getting their chunk of change. I would bet she is in for trouble now that she crossed them. Their attorneys are on retainer so it costs them nothing extra to take action and they are used to this kind of thing happening. My husband is an attorney and he says that "in general" you can sell something with a lien on it to satisfy the loan with the proceeds, but the bank gets first crack at that money if they hold the lien.

I guess it isn't any real surprise. It was just how and when she would make her next move. So sorry you have one more headache to handle now.

Nope, it's gone and she is back in Wisconsin.
I immediately went to the bank to give them a "heads up". They looked, and checks on her account are originating from WI. Her neighbor said someone came and hauled the mobile out of its spot around the first of the month.
The bank has a copy of the title with their lien on it, so she could take it to the courthouse and register it in her name. She never got the "clean" title back to the bank.
The bank is investigating. They will talk to their attorney and get back to me. Soon, I hope.
Selling something with a lien on it and pocketing the money is a crime, is it not?

If she quits payments and the bank comes to you, evict her sorry parasitic backside and repossess the mobile home.

I'll cross my fingers that it's just a case of having an opportunity to move it to somewhere more permanent than the typical mobile home park rental space.
