What kind of crazy system does this??

Gramma was hospitalized on Monday (coming home today). I went through all of her medications with the nurse and made sure to let her know that gramma needed her Enberal shot. As it was late in the evening, the pharmacist was having a hard time getting ahold of the doctor to sign off for her evening and bedtime meds, I made a joke to the nurse that I would just run home and get her evening meds if it came down to it. She, of course, informed me that that was not okay ( I knew that and would't have anyway) and all medicines had to come from the hospital pharmacy (of course). About two hours later, a nurse came in and told me that I would have to bring in her Enberel from home?!?!?! Excuse my language but WTF??? This is STUPID!!!! IF I HAD to bring her Enberel in, I might as well have brought in the rest of her meds. Why bother having a pharmacy at the hospital? Lets just all bring the medications in from home and have all of us CGs dispense the meds instead of pharmacists and nurses. Of course I don't mean any of that but....

And to top it off, the doc discontinued the Enberel until she's better, so she never even got the shot I had to run home to get. Wonder if I can get some gas money from the accounting office? LOL!!

this does not surprise me.When hubby was in intensive care they did not have his needed meds on stock.Because he could not miss a dose, they used ours that I had brought so they could list the meds.
When desperate they do non allowed things.
This time the hospital did not make big bucks off the meds.
