First, I get a wakeup call from the SNF saying that our LO is out of namenda. WHAT? It's not time to renew that one yet.
So... I make the trip over there and discover that the doctor had changed her dosage to two 10's per day (formerly one). No, we were NOT notified. No, they didn't get a new prescription so that the insurance would accept the change and pay for the refill now. So, exchanged a few calls with the doctor's office and finally managed to get a new prescription faxed to the pharmacy, drove over there and picked up the new prescription, delivered to the SNF. (Their in house pharmacy doesn't take her insurance, for some reason so we can't use them.) On my way in, another attendant catches me to tell me she's out of nightgowns. WHAT? I took FIVE clean gowns over there last Friday. She's already short several of the gowns I've purchased over the past year because they've disappeared. There were five gowns in her laundry basket .. since Friday. One was in a plastic bag because it had been wet. That one I understand, but absent a diaper leak or similar, explain to me why it's easier for these aids to walk PAST the dresser to throw a clean nightgown (worn once) in the hamper when they are dressing her in the morning. Same problem with bras. I've talked to the director several times about this issue. Good grief! So, a trip to Walmart for more nightgowns. You know, I don't mind caring for her but I've spent my entire day chasing after stupid stuff instead of spending it with her or with my children. |

That can certainly be a major pia. Especially the gowns that disappear. I wear gowns more than one night, and so does my Mom. What is the deal there?
Almost had the same thing happen with the meds myself not long ago. One med they change the dose constantly with my Mom. Another one I had her doc call in, and he actually gave her the wrong dose. I did (luckily) catch that, and called doc, and got it fixed. Normally I wouldn't check them, but since she's only been with me 4 months, I double check everything. I'd be upset about the gowns too! Lot of stuff like that keeps you running, for no reason at all. I know my aunt's name was in all her gowns, in magic marker. So were socks, pants, and everything else she had there. |

Nah. Dab-nabbit is for irritations like these.
I've got a fairly extensive vocabulary from my Army brat upbringing, but try to reserve that for "special occasions" if you know what I mean. ha! That's how they know I really mean it... they done stomped on my last nerve. On the positive side, we haven't had a "special occasion" for months. *knocking on wood* |

And the term is "dag-nabbit" you are stronger than me. I would be out for a head. All that makes me nutz. Sometimes I feel that it would be easier to do it all myself (yes, I know that would be a big mistake) Somedays it just seems like I spend more time cleaning up after the CGs than I do cleaning up after MOM.
