As many of you know, the EVC has wreaked havoc in our lives. It has been 8 months since the case was first started, I spoke to the investigator last month, he said it is taking so long because it is such a BIG case. I am wondering if the case is just sitting on his desk waiting to be pushed over the side and into the waste basket. I recieved a letter from the credit bureas yesterday, saying she had too many CC, too many late payments, and they were cutting her off!

Cutting her off????? Good grief, I called the major CB months ago, requesting that red flags be set up on her accounts, being that there is fraud, I was promised there would be an investigation and so on. It looks to me that nothing has been done.

This person is still using a major CC that we were not aware existed. From the sound of this letter, there must be buckets of cards being used by this person!

Months ago, I called every card we could find, by looking through bills, her purses, filing cabinets and so on and canceled what we had found.

My Mil trusted this person, she knows about the fraud and the abuse, and was crushed that this person would do this to her. It caused her undue mental damage, and increased the level of her dementia. I also believe that this has caused her BP to become elevated, along with the need to take Xanax several times a day.

I also think that this incident had my fil so upset, that it led to the start of his strokes and ultimate death.

I am going to demand tomorrow that this person be arrested and that her picture be posted on the front page of our local paper!!!! I plan on going in very upset, in reality, I dont think it is going to do one bit of good. I was told this case is in preparation to be handed over to the DA, but the more things that are uncovering themselves, the longer it is going to take to get this set up to be accepted by the DA!!! OH Criminy!

Hell to all those who so comfortably take advantage and abuse the elderly!!!! I hope this person pays in the end, and I hope one day to be able to post the picture of this person on this site!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck to all, and keep a watchful eye over those you trust with your loved ones!!!!!!!

I agree with TORP. There is something wrong here. They have had plenty of evidence and time to get this to the DA... someone is either deliberately shuffling their feet cause they are not doing their job, or they are shuffling their feet because the woman has connections and may be even paying off the investigator! Wink
Somethin's fishy...

If you do speak with the media, be VERY CAREFUL not to make any statements which are not backed up with SOLID FACT or you could be subject to a slander suit.

Call the local television station or newspaper. Most of them in our area have citizen advocate columnists who love poking their nose in and publicizing this kind of stuff.

Mae, we have considered the AG. If this Deputy does not get things on the ball soon, something is going to have to happen. When it makes it to the DA, and if the DA accepts it as a case, then it will be out of our hands.

Thanks!

Blue while I realize you do have much on your plate I really wish you would just talk to a lawyer and tell them what has happened, there are many who will take the call listen to you and if there is a possibility of a lawsuit in your favor they will take it on without money up front that will come out of the win Wink
This doesnt have to be your main focus at all thats what the lawyer is for...just ponder it for a bit after all whats a free 30 minute consult on a phone really? Sit with a nice cup of coffee or tea and have a chat while enjoying your beverage Wink

I have called the credit bureas, you never get to speak to a real person, it is all automated.

I am writing a letter {per request} tomorrow, stating the dates, times and persons I spoke to when I first requested this be flagged and it was not!

We have decided as a family not to get a lawyer, it would cost so much money, and take up so much time of our lives and cause so much upheavel, we are just not prepared to jump off into that deep end!

One day, this person will pay.....if not by us, by God!!!!!!!!!!!

We are moving on and living our lives to the best of our ability. My H misses his Dad terribly, and we have his Mom, my MOm, and my Dad to see after. That is our focus!!!

I am not going to give up on the authorities who are building a case against this person as I write this. I am calling tomorrow and demanding to know where this case is sitting!!!

Thanks for the replies, you girls are wonderful!!!

Blue that just about tears it!!! How could they let her continue to to damage like that after all these reports?? You have every reason to be upset. Who is going to reimburse your MILs additinal losses? This EVC will never be able to pay it back and no one hardly ever gets squat out of the government. How much do they need to arrest her, anyway??

Sweetie , I am so sorry, you are still dealing with this on top of all else. Breathe, Breathe, Don't let her make you another victim, and I don't mean materially. Keep your health. Breathe, Blue.

BG has a point, The Cred Bur are a lot to blame, There has to be a lawyer who will give you a consultation free.

Uh Blue my advice...you NEED to contact a lawyer toot sweet! How bout a Civil suit to start with Yup that sounds good Wink
Oh yeah and if these Credit Bur. are not doing their freakin job by flagging your in laws accounts which in simple terms is cutting access you can not open ANY account without calling them yourselves and verifying WHO you are even then you gotta jump through some hoops but the point is if there was any credit cards opened AFTER you spoke to them then THEY didnt do their job! Hmmm wonder if you can drag those inept bast**** into this suit?! Boy would I LOVE to see them sweat!
