MB, glad to hear your visit is going good. If you are anything like me, you freak out at the initial contact of coming company!

I always turn into a nut when I find out someone is coming, and I don't have a LO in my care, living in my home. I am just an idiot when it comes to people in my house.

It always turns out though, that once they get here, everything is fine. Really, my grandmother told me years ago that people come to see YOU, and not your dustbunnys!!!! People are more concerned about the way their house looks than others! It is so true!!!

Well despite the social shock and the emergency housekeeping, we had a wonderful visit! I think Mom enjoyed seeing her eldest and the extra attention, etc.

Now... where WAS I before the stuff hit the rotating occillator? Razz

So glad it's going well, and your Mom is enjoying this. Makes it all worthwhile. My Mom's house is clean enough for company, but my dust bunnys have names. Hub says they are old enough to get their shots now. If we open the door, and the breeze rolls through, they scare the cats. It's the truth.

Ya know, it's not so much the housekeeping, although it's embarrassing not to have a pristine place, but that is what it is... It's that when one lives as removed and solitary an existance as many of us 24/7 caregivers live, having company suddenly is a mental freakout.

Our visit is going very well - my old tv gave up the ghost between Saturday night when I turned it off and Sunday morning, when it refused to come on again, so I'm off to WallyWorld to procure a new one so my hubby will not sit and stare at the black picture, listening to just the sound. Not to mention the mumbled curses in several languages... Big Grin

Mom is enjoying the visit - it has sparked her up nicely. My sis is knitting by Mom's bed and watching the horrific news with her, so I'm gonna sky out for a few... Seafood restaurant tonight!! YUM!! Big Grin

Had to laugh! Mine does it all the time. My sister called a couple of weeks back to say she was coming up on Sunday to visit Dad. Saturday afternoon around 4, she literally walks into the house (no door bell...nothing). We were schedule to pick up my partner at work at 4:40. My dad went "oh jeez, she can't stay! we need to get Michael". So she got there and after 30 minutes I said "I am really sorry, we need to run out and get Michael". She understood, but told dad she would try be back the next day with her baby (who my father adores and hasn't seen in months). Needless to say, she didn't make it and my dad was waiting...

Maybe if you put an "out of order" sign on the bathroom door, the guests won't stay long.

Serve coffee; it's a natural diruectic.

*feeling your pain* We're all behind on self and home care.

I'm so far behind on house keeping, My family won't come in my house. If I do get it clean one day, I'm not telling anybody.

Eek OH NOOO! Eek

That would surely send me over the edge! I hope everything turns out well...ya know, as much as I freak out over unexpected visitors, it is never turns out as horribly as I imagine it. On the other hand, however, that last minute stash and dash really does me in every time! Razz

Good luck, Hon' Wink I'm rootin' for ya!
