FR, when Mom was still ambulatory, despite my efforts, sometimes she would just "run down" - new problems would crop up, existing ones would worsen and all of a sudden, I was losing control and her condition was worsening.

Call her doc and explain the situation! He might be able to order a short stay in rehab. The folks there can really do wonders getting our elders back together again!

As far as the way your agency has treated you, the mental midget who bathes by throwing water, etc. - darlin', ya gotta take the bull by the horns. Do NOT let these folks buffalo you! Your mother needs care. If they will not provide it, someone HAS to... call another one, and another one and another one until you find people who actually believe in working for a living according to the standards of their job descriptions. Do NOT take any crap AT ALL from them - you are PAYING for the service. I would also refuse or decrease payment to any agency whose workers don't work or who gives me a hard time and WASTES my precious time. Money talks and bullsh*t walks. Around here, if they want a check, they better earn it. If they want me to ALLOW medicare to pay them, they had better do a reasonable job or I will actually contact Medicare with my complaints, direct them to refuse payment and the agency will be in a WORLD of sh*t then!! Wink

Dont let it hitcha where the good Lord splitcha!" Ewww that juss fries me on all kinds of levels its not even funny! fire them! Sweetie there are always one to take there place...go to a senior cent an Alz Assn. meet and ask around youll get some recommmendations from others in the same situation. Dont wait on this just do your mom happiness is at stake here as I am sure she also feels your frustration at whats happening. Keep us posted Wink

I'm sorry to hear that elder services has left such a gap. Two weeks is a long time. It doesn't seem right. Is there a supervisor you can speak to?

FR I have to agree with Gail here give her a sponge bath. Its not really nessesary to give a full bath now if she is bedridden. There is a line of wonderful products that dont require water (waterless shampoos ect) you can find them online, medical supply stores and sometimes drugstores like Ekard or walgreens depending on where you live. Some will even order it for you just ask the manager. Im sorry they left you with such a gap but like Gail said call a supervisor and tell them you need help. Hope it gets better sweetie hang in there! Wink
