Hi everyone, I'm new here and having a very difficult time. I have been a partial caregiver to my chronically ill mother for about 15 years. Now, my parents are on the verge of separating and I will be thrust into caregiving full-time. I don't mind caring for Mother, I believe it's what God would have me do, but I am fearful and angry as to how it is coming about. My folks refuse to work things out as it stands now and we are ALL paying the price. Any words of encouragemnet would be very appreciated.

Thanks. Things are better today, but they have a way of not lasting. We wil see in the coming weeks and months how things go. I am glad this board is here.

I’m so glad to hear that your parents may try counseling. Keep your options open, talk with your Dad, let him know about your fears. You can’t control what goes on in their marriage but a divorce or separation will have an impact on you. I wish you the very best. I am new too and the folks here have been wonderful.

I am a believer, and I know you are right, but it tears me up the way things are turning out. They are slightly better today. They have agreed to get counseling(verbally). Now, all they have to do is follow through. Thnks for responding.

You cannot control other people, you can only control you and the choices you make in life.
If you are a Christian, "let go, let God" |
