Mom paid $23 this week for verapamil, 240 mg.

Walgreens had a $4 a month generic program so I rode up there to sign her up.

They told me since she's on Medicare, she doesn't qualify!!!!!

But if she had regular insurance she would.

So this means that Joe Blow making $300,000 a year can get generic meds for $4, but my Mom making $11,000 a year can't.

Yea, I'd say I'm about pissed about this!

Honey put your name on her account and just say its both of yours.
Or make it look like she is paying bills and put it in an account under your name Wink
There are all kinds of ways to help her qualify

Bnot I dont know who gave you that info but they are SO wrong Id go back an smack um with a stupid stick cause there is help out there and most Pharmacists know about these things.
Guess you got a newbie so we will let this one slide...for now! Roll Eyes
Hang tight my dear Ill BRB with some help

here is the SSA online help you can also call them instead and sign your mom up
http://www.ssa.gov/prescriptionhelp/
Medicaid is another avenue to take.

Also depending on her coverage get into the mail order pharmacy instead of visiting a walk in pharmacy you get 90 day with mail order vs 30 day with walk in and oftentimes you pay the same copay.
So say her script is $10 a month you would still pay $10 only now you have a 90 day supply Wink
