I have recently just found this site and and very glad to have done so. This week has been a very bad week for me. A little history ( i will try and make it short). My mom has lived with me for 7 years. After her husband died. She was diagnosed with alz at the age of 60. which was 2 years ago. I have 2 sister and a brother who have not helped or have wanted to help. I have beg pleaded you name it.I have moved a few time in the last year closer to some of my freind as they would help me. I cannot get a job because mom is at stage 4 and cannot be left alone, nor can we get any state help. Thankfully i have a wonderful husband who works all the time to support us. MY problem is last week we were at the doctors and i asked him with the progession how long would we have. He told me by the next 6 months i will not be able to do this on my own and she would have maybe 2 years left. I call my sibling which i live 1 hour away from to let them know and see if i could get some help.My sister called my brother who call and left me a very nasty message on my phone. This is the same brother who has seen is mother maybe 5 times in 2 years.He told me he was going to take her from my home and put her in someplace closer to him so he could see her. I lived 20 minutes from him for 6 months and he never came to see her once.He sayed i havent been taking care of her which is bull****. I drive her to the doctor which is 1 hour away 2 a month. I wanted to keep the same doctor because he is very good. The doctor knows i am the only one that takes care of her.He also says i am doing a excellent job. My brother has no idea about anything but can say i am not doing my JOB.I was so hurt i cried for 2 days. It seems like i am the only one who cares. I have givin up my career to care for her. Why would he think this ( to try to help his guilty mind is the only thing i can think of). My mom cannot remember any of the other kids names nor can she pick them out in pictures. All but me, why because they dont see her. If i ask its i dont have time to babysit for you. My sisters do not work. I i dont believe its babysitting, this is our mother we are talking about. I dont know what to do. Me and my brother are going to go to fist city pretty soon. Please any suggestions would be helpful.
