Its really bad when you have to cool off, to come to the anger wall and post! I knew I didn't need to post yesterday. I had too many 4 letter words at my fingertips.

Mom's hhn, Wed, had 5 things she felt Mom's gp needed to address. Her irregular heart beat is more irregular, her dizzy spells and falling on the night stand, and back down on the toilet (Tuesday). Her right hand goes numb, and the pain goes all the way to her neck...and a toe thats turning blue. And her lungs were getting mucus again.

I took Mom yesterday to her GP (who has also been my gp for over 20 years). He said there was NOTHING he could do about any of it!!!!! Then he told Mom if she didn't fill out a "living will" not to come back!!!! He made her 2 copies to take home. He did kinda explain to her what it was, and why she needed it.

She was very upset leaving his office, and I held my composure till we got in the car. I was so mad, I cried when I got to the car. I'll cry, about 10 minutes before my fuse lights and I'm highly PO'D.

Mom said she didn't like him....and didn't want to go back. I told her he didn't loose 1 patient today, he lost 2.

Neighbor had a card from her doctors office, that has a list of doctors on it. I think Lulu deals with them a lot. And her old doctor from 2002 and before, is on the list!!!!

They also have cardiologist there, foot doctors, and any other doc you need. There is 57 doctors listed on this card! They all deal with the one hospital Mom likes to begin with. Our doc that made both of us highly mad yesterday, deals with a hospital she doen't like.

I know hhn can't recommend a certain doc...but I feel she can say if she's dealt well with any of the docs on the list. And if I'm not mistaken, hhn deals with these docs a lot, as they take her blood work to that hospital these docs are affiliated with, which is actually the hospital Mom prefers anyway!

Someone upstairs guiding both us through this. Mom at first said she didn't want to go back to him, but dreaded at almost 95, getting a new doc. But since I called, and this is the same doc she used and loved before she moved to Tx in 02, she has been a lot more settled about changing docs again. This will be doc #3 since January.

Am I wrong to want the best of care for my Mom? He didn't even do an EKG on her yetsterday!!! I feel an EKG, and adjustment with her current meds may be all she needed for the irregular heart beat getting worse. And we do need to know if she's having "mini strokes".

I know when I called hhn, when I got home, she'd just got off the phone with his office. I know she couldn't say much, but she didn't sound very happy. And to me, it seems after Feb- now, any problems hhn felt needed addressing, he hasn't been very cooperative at ALL in addressing. Its like he resents a nurse telling him what needs to be checked!

Swear, this can't possibly be the same doc I've seen for over 20 years. But he's certainly seen the last of me too.

I haven't fired him YET. Not until we get established with a doc that works well with hh nurses. As she can't be without a doc for 1 day I know.

Today, I did get the living will thing out, he printed out for her, and read it to her. First thing she wanted to know, was HIS (dr's) name was on it!!!! No, its not. I read her choices to her, and she doesn't want to make a decision on any of it right now. Maybe later and maybe not, who knows. I do have power of attorney over her medical, and its recorded in probate court.

I'm really hoping this new clinic is one hhn is extremely familiar with. We love our hhn. She is on top of everything all the time, and tries to keep problems from coming up before they happen.

I know legally she can't recommend a doc. I sure wish she could. But I think I have enough questions to ask her, that legally she can answer to give us a good sound decision on.

I find this theory to be very true!
Sometimes things happen for a reason.

I say good riddance! What goes around, comes around. And someday he's gonna find himself in a situation where someone will give up on him! Razz

Thanks Mom's buddy.

The group we're looking into, has Mom's old doc from 2002 and earlier on their list!

She loved him! That was before her move to Tx. When she came back last Dec, we had no idea where his office disappeared to.

I'm sure hoping he works well with our hhn.

This could all be the biggest blessing in disguise!

Dump 'im. Get another doc. I don't care if the guy is god's gift to mortal medicine - he's an asshole and those one does NOT need when in their 90s nor when caring for someone who is. I would rather have a less talented physician who CARES and works with us than an arrogant ass.
