It doesn't seem possible that it has been a month since dh went to the hospital and 3 weeks since he went to the nursing home. He seems to be adjusting and now calls his small space home. He has family pictures, a small TV, and his books and seems quite content, although the dementia is full-blown. He is always glad to see me and his biggest fear is that I will get tired of coming there. All I can do is reassure him constantly that I will always be there for him.

I am developing a routine, gym workout 3 mornings a week before I go to visit, church on Sunday, and always to visit on Sunday. I also joined a women's Bible class which I enjoy.

Have made changes at home. I now have two little parakeets (budgies) to entertain me with their antics and sweet chirpings. I have two bookcases which will soon be filled with my favorite collector books. My office is 98% ready for action, beads waiting to be strung, and genealogy books on order to pick up my research again.

I still cry sometimes, the evenings are still hard, but not as bad as they were. I miss him terribly, but I know he is okay and I will be okay, too.
