I am not sure if this belongs in early onset or here. My wife was diagnoses 3 years ago but I began noticing changes years before. She always was a "talker" but now she is talking constantly. She even works herself up to a rage at times. She has been on Seraquel for about 2 years because I couldn't keep her from hurting her self when she got out of control. (put her hand through a window) Just started her on Lexapro when her mood turned very negative after Thanksgiving. Don't even ask about the Holidays.
I guess the saddest thing is the lost of my gentle sweet wife of 31 years of marrage. Now she swears like a sailor and dumps all of her anger and rage on my shoulders. I know it is her disease - but it is hard to take. Thanks for reading this. Don

Thanks for your input Lynne. I have my wife seen by our local mental health agency and they though she was mildly depressed. If she didn't have the dementia she may not have needed the Lexapro but after 6 weeks on the med she got out of her negative mood. She has been stable and I pray that it will continue. Meds, don't even ask. We just found out she has Lupus. We did see her neurologist recently and he is keeping her just on the Aricet for now. Don

Don , you are welcome to post where ever the message will be read.It is difficult to see the one we know and love become someone different.I would imagine she feels the same way because of the disease. It is sad and I wish you and all others could be spared this .
