Cathy Martin died from the complications of her medical conditions on December 23, 2006.

I am her friend and her cousin.

She had this site benched on her bookmarks so I thought there might be those of you would would like to know.

She had been a caregiver to her mother-in-law for around 7 or 8 years and was dedicated to her family.

At the very end, she was guided by Hospice and suffered no pain. She was able to have her family by her side. She was able to forgive those she held anger towards, laugh and be her ever joyful self, and accept her life and her death as she took her last breath. She looked at her children, smiled, closed her eyes with the smile on her lips and her life just stopped. It was like her spirit came through all of us and we knew she'd gone from her body and into heaven.

Personally, this is the first death I have been so close to and I found it to be the most intense experience of my life.

I am proud and honored to be her friend and grateful to have been her cousin.

She was buried at Pleasanton Memorial Gardens Cemetary close to our grandmother.
