I found this quote a while back. I'm not quite sure how it makes me feel, but it's a powerful image.

"For what is it to die
but to stand in the sun
and melt into the wind?"

It also lends itself well to other comparisons
(sorry Kahlil!)

"For what is it to die
but to stand in the moonlight
and break into a thousand tiny stars?"

I love Gibran too. I have use his words in times of happiness and sorrow. His words are truly profound.

I have always been comforted be the works of Kahlil Gibran

"The selfsame well from which your laughter rises was oftentimes filled with your tears.
The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain."

Thank you DonsWife, for the timely reminder.
