Openheart what a beautiful picture of your mom. We are lucky to have these winged angels watching over us finishing our job on earth. Bluewater I know how hard it is on you too. I can tell you both, having been through this several times that it does get easier to remember the good times and push away the sickness and pain. I'm also glad that your son is able to talk to you about this. Take care of yourselves guys.

Dear OpenHeart, I am just now reading your post.
My fil passed away on 4-4-07. My husband is really missing his Dad, my oldest son, who was the "golden haired child",and treated as if he could do no wrong, is having the most difficult time. He called me tonight from his work and he is really struggling. I told him to remember all the good times he had with his grandfather, and all the unruly things they did together. I don't think a word I said helped him, but I am praying for him and for you too!!!
Yes, from what everyone is saying it looks like the hard days are ahead, and we must hold each other up to make it through.
I really liked the pic of your Mom, she looked like a real sweetie, I know you and your family are missing her so much!!! Hugs to you all!!!!!!

OpenHeart, y'all have been through so much over the years... I am so sorry for your loss, but I rejoice that Mom has gotten her wings!

Periods of crying seem to come and go. I feel so exausted, yet, I am happy for Mom and that she is now that she has gone home.

I am so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to you during this extremely difficult time. I just lost my mom 3/30/07 and my emotions are still so raw.

Mae is so right - your parents will always be with you.

As I get older and look in the mirrow I know more then my mothers blood flows witin.
We are a refection of them.All the guidance they gave is reflected in the way we live our lives.If we monitor our selves we almost become one of our parents.Their are day when I look in the mirror and have to take another look.It is like seeing my mothers refection.
They may leave us physically but they never leave us mentally.At this stage the memories I have are ones of a time before the dementia.They seem to be like a negative page in my lifes story that came and went.The ones that remain , some good and bad but not tramatic , remain.So may little things bring them back to us.So out of sight does not mean out of mind.

My deepest of sympathy to you in your loss of your mother. This is a very sad time, I know. I'm 91 days ahead of you. My father passed away on Jan. 5th and every day is a challenge as we strive to accept this new consciousness in life without our beloved parents.

As Mae said to me early on which I found very comforting is that your parents will always be with you as their blood runs through your veins.
