The day is grim. He is in ICU, has been for about 6 days. They are thinking he had another stroke, drugs for sedation and bp were stopped last night, he does not respond to stimulation of any form.

We are meeting with the DR. tonight, to discuss removing the vent. My h has done all he can for his Dad, and it is ominous that things are not going to turn around for him. He has been a wonderful son,and done everything in his power to take care of him in the best way. I am so proud to be his wife.

I don't know when I will be back to post, the week is going to end up being a long one.

Thanks to all my friends here!!!!

Bwb - just wanted to touch base and let you know you and yours are still in our thoughts and prayers. I hope that mercy and peace have found their way into the situation and the hearts of all concerned. {{{HUGS}}}

BWB, this is such a hard time for all of you. You've said good things, right things to your MIL, you are going to be strong for her I know, and help your hubby through this, and he is going to help you, too. That you are there for her is all you can do, right now. Bless you and yours. You are facing changes of great magnitude and showing such grace and courage.
You may not feel graceful and courageous, but you are being that for those around you. My prayers are with you and yours for tonight and the days to come.

THanks girls! I just returned from taking Mil to visit Fil, most of the family was together in the ICU, we prayed together, and cried together. Mil was exhausted and in pain, so we left after being there for about 4 hours. I don't know how she made it that long. She knows he is not going to come home, that he is going to a better place. But, she is suffering and in fear of being without him. He was her rock for so long, took care of her for many years. They endured the loss of a child, and had such deep emotional scars together from that experience. There were really no words to comfort her, I kept telling her that he was sedated and that he could not wake up and talk to her because the Dr's were giving him medication so he could rest. Repeatedly, she asked me how she was going to live without him.......just no way to answer that question. I tried to console her by saying that we were not going to get ahead of the situation, and are going to take it moment by moment.

My H, his brother, neice and one of my sons are together now, with Fil, waiting for the DR. It is now 10:40pm, he has not made it to the ICU yet. I know that he himself does not want to help the family face this ugly truth.

I have prayed, and am waiting to hear from my H, I may be making the 45 min. drive back to the hospital at any time. Honestly, I don't think Mil can make the trip back.

I know everyone here is supporting me, praying for my family, and sending sweet thoughts. I can't thank you all enough.

Good night!

AS long as you are there for each other at this difficult time, and there for your MIL, you'll get through this very difficult time. Bless you all.
