Hello everyone...It's been about 6 weeks since I've dropped in to check in on y'all. Just got back from group home mom is in. She flipped tonight, threatened to break a window to get out, cussed like a sailor. Nurse called my brother and he just ticked her off more. I just spent 2 hours with mama calming her down. Dang! And last night was absolutely delightful with all the gals at the home. Ya just never know. She's been there for almost 2 months now, and she is getting excellent care. I am so grateful for this awesome facility. They should all be this nice. Even so, alzheimer's rears its ugly head without warning. Sigh...At least she's sleeping peacefully now...and now, so will I, hopefully.

I think of you all often as you all continue to care for your loved ones, and continually keep you in my prayers.

I'll check in more often. Thanks for listening!
Kathleen

Kathleen, there is no way to understand this disease until you have lived it. I could explain this type of situation until my hair fell out and still there are those who look at me as if I have spun into another ozone!

You are a good daughter, my brother would have made the situation just as bad. He just does not get it.

All of you are remembered in my prayers!

Mornin' Kathleen
I hope this morning is nice and calm both for your mom and for you! It is tough to see them become so upset, isn't it? I'm glad you were able to drop everything and head over there to calm her down... I hope they call you first (if there is a next time) rather than your brother. It's easier to handle things from the get go rather then after everyone else has added to their explosion! Eek

I hope that you slept well and that your mom has a good day today. Smile {{{HUGS}}}

Thanks for posting and keeping us up to date Kathleen. I am not experienced with NHs yet and everything anyone has to say gets my attention. I am starting to think that in judging them , I should check to see if there is a good sleeper couch in a visitors lounge.

I am serious here, not being flip or sarcastic. I think if I ever have to check Mom into one, I better make it a room for two. I could not drive home after a night like that.

You are championship stuff. That's for sure.
