Hello all,
My grandma has been in the NH for less than a month. Last Monday, when I arrived she had been sick and the nurses told me she had apparently gotten a stomach bug that was going around. She was sick on Monday, and the rest of the week, she was sick anymore but slept a lot and didn't have an appetite. Friday my dad and myself got hit with this flu and can say with firsthand experience that it is no fun and takes a lot out of you. Since we got it, I've contact the NH and let them know we have it and won't be back up there until it's gone from our systems so we don't give it back to her. I received a call this afternoon from another family member that she is sick again. She is very weak, should I push them to admit her to the hospital to get over this flu? |

Hello, the stomach "bug" usually has nothing to do with influenza "flu". most often it is either food poisoning or noro-virus. The "Flu" is most often a sudden high fever and respiratory complications.
OK, that might be picking nits, as far as what YOU need to do,,,, ANY sign of dehydration, blood any where(any body outlet) nose, mouth, rectum...call 911.. But don't wait if there are any signs of dehydration, confusion that is different,,, * the crystal ball (*) is in the shop>>>> |
