It's good to know that you are appreciated...which I found out today from my other siblings and their spouses! We had another family meeting concerning my Bum Bro (see Bum Brother I'm Burned Out) and what we should do about him. I was really sure they would decide not to get involved, but
instead they are behind me 100%! Mom will be on vacation and while she's gone, my bro, sis and their spouses are joining me and my hubby to tell our Bum Bro just what we think of the way he is taking advantage and leeching off of Mom. We made a plan of attack, discussed possible outcomes, and even how to deal with Mom when she "finds out" about what we are doing. I was so glad to know they understand and are willing to fight on my behalf! I know we can't legally make him move out, and the odds of him changing his behavior is slim, but at least he'll know how we feel and that his behavior is totally unacceptable. We also discussed how I can keep the upper hand when dealing with Mom and still help her. It was a good meeting and even if the whole confrontation ends up being a disaster, at least I know I've got the respect and support of my other siblings and I'm not in this alone!

Daffyd, how wonderful that all (well almost all...) of you were able to sit down together and discuss things and arrive at a solution. I hope that things will improve and that your brother does "see the light" about his behavior - although miracles shouldn't be expected, it's always super cool when they occur! I'll keep my fingers crossed for all of you!
