Hello
Its been a long time since I posted anything but have lurked around for a long time. Our journey began back in 2000 and maybe a couple of years earlier. My husband was finally 'somewhat diagnosed' in late 2005. He is now 68.

He was in public office and some of you may remember this. Now, he is retired and seems to be doing relatively well in the basics of daily life. He does take aricept and was taking namenda and zoloft but decided they made him feel bad and quit. Since he's not dealing with the stresses of the job, I've not noticed a dramatic difference without them.

However, driving continues to be worrisome. When he was at work, driving to and from work was the concern. Now, he drives away and says nothing about where he's going. This caused me to think about getting a GPS tracking device for his truck.

I've wondered if anyone else has experience with a system of this kind. If devices can be put in children's backpacks or in their shoes, it would seem even more possible to put one in a vehicle. My goal is to be able to find him (the truck at least) in case he ran out of gas or got stuck or lost.

We live in a rural area with minimal traffic in the areas where he now drives. There will be a time when we will have to disable the vehicles
but right now, on these rural roads, he seems to be driving with no difficulties and his driving is limited (as far as we know), to only country roads. If we could track him, we'd be able to find out more about that.

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone out there knows more. I tried to search the Alz.Assoc. website and found nothing.

Sincerely
Judy
