I pushed myself out, moved a flower bed, and moved my porch swing back out front.

I feel better. I know the physical activity helped me too.

August is a tough month in my neck of the woods... hot, oppressive humidity and the jungle takes back what I have hacked back all spring & summer...

BUT it's also a great month because everything "peaks" and I can clearly see, even though it's hot and miserable, that autumn is on its way again and soon, it'll be cool enough to get out and do some real damage to those vines and weeds that have become so encouraged during the dog days.

I put in some fall tomatoes, so I have hopes for some mouthwatering late season BLTs before it gets too cool at night for them to set fruit.

I know what you mean about leaving behind memories... I have moved MANY places during my life until I settled here. And I didn't want to be here, but I couldn't leave for one reason or another, and accidentally spent nearly half my life here!! I grew where I was planted... Razz But things have changed and it ain't "country" here anymore... I plan to sell out and move on, and the memories and pieces of my heart buried here will be tough to leave behind, but I can hardly wait to see what'll come next! Smile

Glad you don't have to move on again yet, Anna. Enjoy the time you have! Smile

Glad to report that I didn't have to move after all Big Grin Better for me and Mom to stay put for now.

Anna, I feel for you. I have moved from state to state since meeting my husband and I still cannot get used to it! It's always sad to say goodbye to places that hold memories.

Good luck in your new home, they say "Thrive where you are planted". I know you will. Smile

AnnaS, So sorry about leaving a home into which you have put so much of yourself. I walked the fence around the goat's yard today. Good thing I did. The hot wire had popped loose from some insulators and was dangling. Not worried about the old goat getting loose anymore, but very concerned about roaming dogs and coyotes getting in.

At least I got out side. Walked over t the PO as well. Glad I got out for a bit.

I rearanged my rock garden out front and I got a bit sad about having to leave our house. I have three great fruit trees (plum, peach & fig) that I will have to leave. Not to mention heirloom roses Frown I won't miss the run down neighborhood though, but it's sad to say goodbye.

That will be good for your mom and for you, having neighbors to stop by and visit a bit.

Great ya'll. I've seen a few azaleas bloom, but not many yet.

And nothing like seeing old neighbors. We have some that visit Mom regular too. Known them since late 70's.

I worked on candles I made yesterday and made some more from the leftovers.

It was really nice weather today - hope it lasts until tomorrow so I can go cut some spring weeds. My first azaleas opened today. Smile

a good day's doing. I had a surprise visit from a family who use to be neighbors. That was fun too.
