Another eruption today, over insurance papers he didn't understand. Thought they were going to go into his checking account. I called and got an explanation that satisfied him finally, but with his yelling at me to "listen to him" I wanted to crawl into a deep, deep hole. There are so many little instances of not understanding something, paranoia, panic, etc. that are leaving me absolutely drained. It's like a Chinese water torture, drip, drip, drip. I tighten up constantly, walk on eggs, and the fibro flares bad. What the h--- do I do to preserve my santity??

Merri, beading can become addictive. I don't have any kind of a bead shop within 100 miles, so I do all my bead buying on the internet. Have really found some beautiful things. I use a bead catalogue and spend the whole evening picking out stuff I need or want. I have just completed a big order waiting for an oil lease check to be deposited, then I go shopping. Books are a passion, too. I never get out of my used book store for less than 30 or 40 dollars (every other month or so) and my car knows the way to the library on auto guidance. lol Oh well, we could be hooked on worse things, couldn't we.

I just found out I have osteoporosis, now have to deal with that.

We were also married in 1989!
And I also believe in books, brandy, quilting and beadcraft. I'm just barely getting started with the beads, but I consider myself somewhat of an expert on the first two items. Wink
GREAT stress relievers, hmmmm?

So glad to hear things are calmer now. Like MERRWID said. Breathe. again. I hope you could feel the hugs we are sending you.

Much better to vent here.

This was just the usual statements we get explaining what Medicare and our supplimental insurance paid out, nothing new. Dh is settled down, had T-bone steaks to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. He has let go of a couple more things, asked me to just handle the mail that comes in and if there is anything he needs to look at, let him know. Otherwise, he doesn't want to see it. Also, he is having trouble manipulating silverware and I suggested that I could cut the meat off the bones before dishing up, he thought this was a good idea. Everything calmed down now, so I am going back to my book and my brandy.

BREATHE IN. BREATH OUT. REPEAT.
Girl, I know just how you feel. Hopefully the agent didn't think you were in any danger with all the shouting going on! Did your darling ever calm down? Did you finally convince him that the insurance company was not trying to gain access to your money? What was it, just an advertisement to get you to consider direct pay - from your account to theirs? I still don't completely trust that either. There are just a couple of companies I allow electroni transfer with - one of them being the bank itself, for a loan payment.
Does distraction work with your guy? "Come on, let's have some lunch/take a walk/watch this program on TV, and then we'll look at the letter again" and then there's the ever popular "Honey please wait - I have to go to the bathroom!!"
I don't know what else I can say about saving sanity (I'm quite sure I appeared to lose my own a time or two when Don's mood went black!), except to come back here and vent any time.
Even if no one is around to respond immediately, just writing it down and getting it out of your system helps immensely!
Hang in there, you will make it out the other side.
