A Blessed and Happy New Year to All

We have all been through a tough year and hopefully the New Year finds everyone stronger than the old. My prayers are with all of your loved ones who still struggle and with those of you whose loved ones have given up the struggle in this past year. And that the New Year will be better than the old.

My dh is slowly declining. He is having frequent dizzy spells and moves around the apartment so carefully. Stopping frequently to hold on to something for a minute or so, then continuing. Dr. says these spells are the result of his age. He sleeps much more than he did, some days he's asleep more than he is awake, it seems. We had a wonderful quiet Christmas but are planning a family gathering for New Year's Day. I think this will be his last big "do." I just hope and pray we will share another Christmas!

farmgirl, Happy New Year back at you. Sorry about the dizziness. He is such a trooper. For Mom, we don't have big do's anymore, but a simple desert and coffee together, in numbers no larger than 5 or 6. To tell the truth, That is more than enough at one time for me.

I hope you and H have a great time, with family and friends for the New Year. For Mom, several years ago, I began making sure she had a quiet room to receive the guests a few at a time, to minimize confusion, and to quarentee her breaks. I felt like a warden, but it worked well.
