Hello Petuniannie welcome in, cant say as Iv ever heard anything on this subject but the things I do come up with are about ultrasonic waves and heart patients.
Any device that emits ultrasonic waves should not be used with Pace makers, heart disease, patients that are pregnant or who have tumors. Now that can be a device that uses as little as 5 watts of electricity and or frequency of 1 MHz or better....
Hmmm this is an interesting question thanks for bringing it up Wink

pet. welcome. i have no solid proof on vibrating massages, just hearsay. my mil doc warned her about them, they have a full massage chair with vib. foot rest and he cautioned her that it could potentially dislodge a blood clot if there was one, so naturally she is unwilling to take the chance. i have no written proof. sorry. perhaps one of our great researchers can come up with something to help you. good luck and welcome. if you get a minute introduce yourself to all in the newcaregivers meetingroom. we look forward to getting to know you. g

I have heard that you need to be careful in using vibration-based massage equipment with elders. I've been researching it online and haven't found much information. A friend of mine said that nursing home care-givers are taught to never place vibrational devices near the area of the heart because it can cause cardiac arrest. Is this true? If it is the case are there good reference links where this is in writing? I am currently aware of some therapeutic techniques that use vibration and I also heard about these dangers, so i am concerned and need verification.
