What questions should I ask to find reliable short-term homecare (in her own home) for Oma? What credentials do I need to see? What should I look for in a good agency. I need this in the next 2 days. Please help me. I don't have time to explain right now.... I should have a huge explanation typed up to explain everything before tomorrow.

Sis if you, your mom or your Oma are members of any social or church organization, ask other folks who may have had similar experiences for references. Perhaps one of your Oma's friends can make a recommendation, also. I don't know how things are done up there, but word of mouth is a good resource ANYwhere!! Wink Good luck!! Smile

Sister Awake. Sorry you are in such need for quick help. Don't know how it works in Ontario but here in BC we do have a government Home Support agency- you only get a certain number of hours based on your needs(this is what we use). There are also private companies-but for us that would be much more $ however they will do things like housekeeping that Home Support no longer does here. Sorry I'm not more help. I hope you find suitable help quickly. Gypsy

Sis, if you are using an agency, ask if background checks and bonding are available for all employees. Ask to see insurance documentation, if CG is hurt, if damage to home results from any neglect, injury , loss of property, etc. Make it plain, if you are going through an agency, that you want to know how they will PAY UP, if there is any damage to health life or property while a person is under their care.

Baby, I hope u will find a chance to fill us in later. Surely someone else is going to jump in here to keep this on track.
