Dad is getting more and more confused as the days get shorter and especially at night. I noticed that he improved somewhat during the summer. I've seen where people have used bright light to combat winter time depression. Has anyone tried this with sundowner's?

Welcome Leonitis! Glad you found us. Smile
Yes, light helps with sundowning, particularly in the wintertime. I am not just talking about a nice muted lamp, I am talking about the "let there be LIGHT" intensity of light. Razz It is also helpful in dispelling shadows which can look sinister and helps retain true color vision which we depend upon to give us visual information about things. Do be mindful of reflections, however. They freak some folks out; others, like my mom, will see a reflection on the TV screen and ask "what's that light" 1,000,000 times in a row. Same thing with darkened windows. I don't know why reflections in particular trip them up, but they do!
