I know this has been posted before but it just seemed to be fitting to post today for my mom. It was a year ago today that she died. The year went very fast for me and it still seems unreal all the changes that have happened to my life. When I joined this group my son was still in grammer school and now he's an adult. I have moved from my childhood home to being a tenant with a landlady (we will live here for one more year at least) I was finally and still am grieving the loss of my husband who died 10 years ago 4/26/98 and I'm on the journey to finding out who I am, just me, not the caregiver I've been for 28 years starting with my dad. I still need to work on getting out more and becoming social again but I am working in the pre-k as well as the aftercare program so there is contact with others. You guys have helped me so much. I love all of you.
God saw you getting tired
And relief was not to be.
So He put His arms around you
And whispered "Come with me."
With tearful eyes
We watched you suffer
And saw you fade away.
Although we could not bear to lose you,
We could not ask you to stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard-working hands laid to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.

Mar, how I can relate to waht you have shared.I knew , after my aunt and mother passed there are huge adjustments and so much pain.
Never did I think the loss of hubby would change my life in so many ways
It seems we were given all and then nothing.
For many of us it is a slow process to become acclimated to life after. All we can do is take one day at a time, get through it and be thankful .Then we take all those tomorrows and thank god we have been left standing with the ability to use what the experience has taught us.
We begin to discover that so many of the negatives become positives because they taught us something.
We keep walking with one foot in front of the other and thank god we are able to do such.

Thanks guys. I stayed in and really gave the house a good cleaning up till 5pm. Then popped in a frozen pizza and watched the lifestyle channel and some good movies. The weather was beautiful getting into the low 70's so all the windows were open and I put on the attic fan. Didn't go to the cemetery but will go tomorrow if it doesn't rain. Next thing is to concentrate on Dan's birthday since he missed out last year. Thanks again for being here for me.

Thank you for bringing this back Mar.
I hope today you find serenity in the silence, peace in the love you know, and joy in the life you are living.
