Mom was so gentle, loving and kind. Her name was Phyllis. She was the most beautiful lady I ever knew. In fifty years, I do not think we went more than a week without gabbing about something.

She loved the Lord and the Word. She loved to study and share. She played the piano beautifully. We kicked it off from the start so to speak. Just personalities that clicked.

She wasn't huggie, like her life had been hard somehow. But from very young, I could run up to her and hug her anyway and she loved it. Like I could read her feelings and just touch and hold her hands. I could jump over the wall of hurts in her life and make her laugh.

There is a scripture that came to heart after she passed. It was about being surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses and I knew God let her see that I was ok.

Mom always had something to teach and I thought I would share one of the first things I remember. It was when she taught me to do the dishes. She put a poem in front of the sink and everytime I got upon the chair to do the dishes, I read it.

It goes:
Thank God for dirty dishes, they have a tale to tell. While other folks are hungrey, we're doing very well. For health and home and happiness, we shouldn't ought to fuss, for by this stack of evidence, God's very good to us.

I am glad I found this site. It has been two years and one month since she went to heaven. I was able to finally go to the cemetary just 4 mile away last weekend.

Just Thankful, to every thing, there is a season. You were able to go when it was right. The "dirty dishes " poem is a truely wonderful memory, and tribute to your beautiful Mother. Thank you.
