Yikes, yes I should have thought of that.. Mom doesn't smoke, never did, but I did until 20 months ago. .. never around her. Thinking about the bed pad, too...and the "egg crate" pad. A couple of times different folks have asked if I use an electric blanket for Mom or a heating pad. I have always refused on the thought I would electricute her (incontinence). NOW I am thinking of an odd ball spark and a blazing inferno.

This is not surprising.With the plastic we have to assume there is danger of fire.
We had one of those special recliner chaires for my aunt.Because of the flawed design , the cord rubbed the chair, wore the covering on the cord and caught fire.She was in a reclining position when this happened.Thank god we were able to extract her from the chair while there was only smoke.It burst into flames and the materials were so toxic and burned so fast.
You have to check on the design of these chairs before making a purchase.So many things are flamable.We just have to try to think a head.
