This article leaves alot to be desired... but stil is a huge caution about meds. Don't take it all to heart. The extreme drugs with severe risks can be useful in extreme conditions. I took zantac for heart burn regularly. Doc did tests.
Recommended I take Prilosec for 6 weeks. It helped a lot. I only occasionally have heart burn requiring zantac now. Like every other week instead of daily.

I don't mind taking something temporary if it makes sense, but something long term??? Very different... Sometimes the drugs are worth the risk, but you and your ? (their ) doctor must reach that decision together. Don't let them bully you or ignore your (or your LO's history). So much is counter indicated, but that often leaves you between a rock and a hard place. At least if you insist on disclosure, you can evaluate the risk. This is not easy and can send your doc into a tizzy. Many don't like to dicuss these things. That doesn't mean they don't know what they are doing, just don't have people skills.
Do your home work. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Keep going.

One cannot be too informed when it comes to meds. You only have to experience the negative side of them.
When doctors go to medical school they go through a quick course in meds. Many , today, are taught the generics.
The side affects of meds can be horrible.
They say you be damned if you and or if you do not.
I take very little pain meds for my back because of the severe side affects.
I have enough problems, need no more if possible.
When meds are prescribed you have to do your home work.Ask those who are informed what they know.Ignorance is not bliss when it comes to meds
