This is interesting. So often our LOs have torn our hearts apart about the 'driving' issue. Japan is going to let the government take the driver's seat on the matter. How??

I agree, it isn't a total answer, and I don't understand how much the fee is in dollars. It's a start. Writing laws is tricky business.

Hmmm Im kinda liking this BC but it still doesnt take it out of our hands completely they stated in the article "Those whose cognitive levels are judged to be declining will be advised to consult their families or doctors to decide whether to stop driving"
Personally I think if they do indeed fail these tests the DL should be taken away right then and there but thats just me I know for a fact in LA if a Police officer pulls an elderly person over for driving erratically on the road they question them and if they fail they pull their license right then and there and have the car towed so why can they not take that step if an officer has the authority to pull one? ********************************************** Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit. |
