A program titled "Powerful Tools for Caregiving" is a free series being offered from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesdays, April 9 to May 14, at the Alzheimer's Association, 517 N. Segoe Road. Facilitators are Danielle Thai and Pat Wilson of the Alzheimer's Association.

The series is designed for family caregivers of frail older people or those with dementia or other chronic disease, long-term illness or disability. Participants can learn skills to help in their caregiving roles, reduce stress and guilt, set goals and solve problems.

Registration is requested by calling the association at 232-3400.

A monthly family caregiver education program also is offered free from 5:30 to 7 p.m., on the second Monday of each month at the Alzheimer's Association. The upcoming session on April 14 will be on "Wandering, Restlessness and Pacing" with Jody Curley and Pat Wilson, family support specialists.

No registration is necessary.
