Well I thought when mom was gone that it would be my turn to get some rest and relaxation and just do what I please...On the Monday before Valentine's day I woke up with strange things going on and to make a long story short wound up in hospital with atrial fib. which is a heart out of rythmn. Mom suffered this for years so it won't kill me but it makes me have to take a lot of heart medications that I don't like and I feel pretty bad sometimes.
Oh well as long as I don't inherit mom's alz I can deal with the atrial fib.
I just think back to the plans I made for my husband and I to get away more and do things together after the caring for mom was over and now it seems all we do together is go to see doctors. Hubby's health is declining since he turned 65 ..nothing serious just the usual old age issues but we see one specialist after another these days and now I am too. He had made plans to retire from his second career but I guess he will continue to work since we have lots of bills these days.
Now that I have vented I guess I feel better. Gee you all are nice to talk to!! Thanks!

Wow, Gab, what a social life! All the names in your "little black books" now end in MD, hmm?
All of us who can call ourselves "Former Caregivers" (oxymoron, isn't it - kind of like Jumbo Shrimp) look forward to MY TURN, MY TIME.
And now it really is your turn, your time.
You've GOT to take care of yourself - no excuses my dear.
The appointments will level off, and you will both find time to do fun things together.
Hugs to you.
