edwina, i can imagine how worried you are. go ahead with the retests and have them scheduled asap to ease your mind. any prolonged waiting just increases fears and stress. it is best to get things ruled out so you can have some peace of mind. the last thing you needs is more stresss added to you. i'm sorry that both parents experienced cancer in thier lives but from what doc told me that in my family the members who had cancer had different types of cancer, that is one had bone cancer, one leukemia, one skin and one breast and they were divided between mom and dad's famly so she sad that lessened the risk of it hereditary or whatever when t is in families. sorry i am not better with medical terms but i understood what she is saying. i imagine as wth a typical caregiver your health has benn put on the backburner for awhle so it is good to get a complete once over. good luck and i will be praying for a positive outcome.

Edwina, how long have you been putting off taking care of yourself while taking care of everyone else?
No, I'm not scolding, we're all guilty of that. Yes, you need to laugh. (Since I've got my home computer fixed, I've been able to access all of the links that are barred to me at work. I just now looked at BCs link, and realized I have to log into Youtube for more! It's a real treat for me.) We all aapproach caregiving with "one problem at a time, one day at a time" attitude. Apply that to yourself now. Take care of YOU with the very same strength you have when caring for others. We're here for you. |

edwina, sweetie, hold tight. Sometimes things happen whether we are care givers or not. Stress does not help our chances to avoid problems, but no one gets off totally free of aging and genetics, and sometimes, it is stress that might spark it a bit.
For Many of Us, Caregiving is in our present, past, and future. To be anything else is to deny who we are. Denial is an even greater stress. Laugh a lot. Is it an oxymoron to say, seriously, please laugh. It doesn't make every bad thing go away, but it does help. First laugh assignment: watch this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLWp9zJTlz8&mode=related&search= * the crystal ball (*) is in the shop>>>> |
