Back in the Old Days of the Internet (about five years ago), individuals took on unique and sometimes amusing names. These were highly technical people who often had a sense of humor. This tradition has continued to today in the names that members choose for themselves. While it is a way to tell us a bit about your personality, it is also a way to protect your anonymity. You may want to be straightforward with it, creative, funny, or take a name that has personal meaning to you.

Maintaining your personal privacy should be a high priority for you. We also do our utmost to protect and secure all the information that you provide us with. Although you are required to enter your e-mail address in the registration form, we have reworked the software so that your e-mail address is never visible to others. We recommend that you do not include your email in your posts or provide it to others unless you have gotten to know them.

I don't want to scare the bejeezus out of you, but I do want to give you a healthy dose of caution. We do ask for a little bit of personal information in our profile so that others can get to know you and perhaps contact you directly through the private message feature. Telling others whom you are caring for and your chief concerns is a great way to break the ice and find people with common interests. You will see some very personal messages posted on the board. Please respect other's opinions, situations, and privacy but at the same time use it as an opportunity to help them out.
