After over 10 years, I have asked a family friend to propose a redesign of the ElderCare Online website. So please post any comments, critiques and suggestions to this discussion thread.
Here is the link: Test Page Thanks for your continued generous support and assistance to all our member caregivers. I am hoping to upload the new pages (with corrections) in a week or two. |

At least I have learned how to work around the yellow type a little. You have to be careful not to delete it, but if you run your curser over what you have written like you were going to do a copy and paste, it turns a nice shade of blue for proof reading. That has helped me some. These aging eyes can't handle the yellow on off white well at all.

ROTFLMAO - ahhhh, the hated yellow type!! Again, that's part of the forum software settings and not the main website, but it never hurts to beg... "She ain't heavy; she's my mother." Mom got her wings 11/18/2008 |

I'm probably going to be happy with most anything, but PLEASE rework that anger wall and get rid of the brown walls and yellow script!

Thanks MB, I was showing my ignorance (newness) again. Just thinking if things are getting revamped, updated, lets go hog wild...

Honestly, while I like the color scheme, the format reminds me of an online restaurant menu. Too casual for the subject matter at hand. There are zillions of templates available that would have a cleaner, more businesslike presentation, while still appearing warm, inviting and comforting. Just my opinion...
BC, the front page website and this forum live at different URLs and are not connected except by links. The emoticons you request have to be added through the Groupee/Eve software that the forum uses... "She ain't heavy; she's my mother." Mom got her wings 11/18/2008 |

I design web sites, too. Clean and simple is a good rule of thumb. It's content that counts, and easy access to it. Since you can count on the majority of people who visit this site to be middle-aged to elderly, legibility is key. Personally, I'd suggest all writing be on off-white and that color be only trim.

I haven't been using this site for very long, but I'd still like to say that I like the new proposed look a lot. Also, as a former web site designer, I can tell you that you can never please everyone, due to the wide variety and differences in tastes, etc.

I think the proposed format is a bit busy and distracting. It's tempting to gild a lily but there's really no need.

I am not crazy about the checker board. Something less linear suits me better. AND that lavender or purple or what ever, well could it be a brighter.
This is a bit dull. * the crystal ball (*) is in the shop>>>> |
