I have had trouble lately having groupie remember me for sign in. I check the remember me box, but sometimes I have to log back in during the middle of a post.

If it is just me, maybe it is something going on with my 'puter. But ?? is anyone else having trouble??

The reason I suggested it is because it has a remember me program that doesnt forget your log in info to the site I should have mentioned that Smile

Whether you stay signed in is dependent upon a couple of major things. One is the session length of your browser and the other is the session length set by the site software (which is NOT the issue here). The "remember me" option only remembers your login and password for you. It has nothing to do with KEEPING you logged in. Using Firefox, I have it set to clear all my session cookies when it closes, so the only time I have to log in is when I open my browser and access the site for the first time. So long as my browser remains open, I am in the same "session" and I only have to long in once. Now if I close my browser and reopen it later on in the day (or one minute later - doesn't matter), that's a new session and I have to log in again.

Your ISP (the company who provides your internet service) also has session length specifications which may have changed, but there is little you can do about that...

If you are having to log in repeatedly while ON the site, you may have a cookie problem. All cookies for this forum are stored under groupee, infopop or eve - normally under groupee, since that is the authority to which we log in and governs the security for ALL Groupee forum sites.

Another potential issue is the new Windows XP SP3 update which was released (I think) in late June. If your computer is set to download and install updates automatically, you may be noticing a difference because of that. Changes were made not only to XP but also to IE. Also, you own security programs - antivirus, spyware and especially firewall may be causing this and need to be loosened a little.

Sorry I can't be more specific, but different browsers and different OSs and different security combinations and settings make it impossible to give a "do this and do that" kind of an answer. I can point you in a direction, but you will have to find the correct settings for your particular computer. Without knowing what you are running, I couldn't help much anyway. Sorry...

URRGH, it is happening again, only here. My ID and password work fine, but I have to use them multiple times a day. I check "remember me" I say yes to save password, but then I have to do it over again in 3 minutes. And it is only at ECO. How do I identify the cookies from this site only? I will try again to do that..

Ummm...there is no option like that... I just wanted to emphasize that one did not need to delete ALL one's cookies - only those from this site.

Glad it's working better for ya now. Big Grin

Thanks MB, have done that now, we'll see. I had no trouble logging in, just staying in. Follow the yellow brick road.

The "session" is expiring. I would suggest that you go into the options for your browser and delete the cookies from *this site only*, then see how that goes. Sometimes cookies, which are supposed to remember stuff, become corrupted.
